Personal History A native of planet Mizar II, Monoc Drurio was born in 2358 to Ranos and Mibi Drurio. Twin brother to Caem Drurio, Monoc nearly died during his birth as his mother experienced complications in her delivery. While his parents had accepted the potential that he may not survive, Monoc overcame the odds and was able to successfully leave the hospital after a six month treatment cycle.

Despite his early successes, life was not easy for Monoc as he came of age on Mizar II. The Mizarians were well known throughout the galaxy for their belief in peaceful non-resistance over confrontation, a fact that had led his people to being conquered more than six times in three centuries. That did not sit well with Monoc and led him to question the status quo more than once, earning his family the scorn of several prominent families on Mizar. The black sheep of his family, Monoc was ostracized from his family with even his twin brother Caem breaking their bond.

In early adulthood Monoc attracted the attention of the local authorities when he vandalized the Mizarian Monument to Surrender. Admitting his guilt, Monoc was given the option to be incarcerated or be sent to Starfleet, a punishment worse than death to his people. Realizing that his time would be better spent helping others, Monoc chose to join Starfleet and was enrolled in the Starfleet Academy Annex on Bolarus IX.
Service Record Cadet, Starfleet Academy Annex, Bolarus IX
Accepted as a member of the Starfleet Academy Class of 2382, Monoc Drurio was undecided on what his focus should be when beginning his studies. This was problematic as, due to his heritage as a Mizarian, Monoc had drawn a great deal of attention from his instructors and Starfleet Command due to the limited number of Mizarians in Starfleet. After completing his general education studies, Monoc was still at a loss for how he wanted to proceed with his future and considered returning to Mizar II to face his prison sentence. It was through a chance encounter with a Starfleet Researcher named Bruce Maddox that Monoc chose to pursue a career in cybernetics. After declaring his major, Monoc flourished in his studies, but was quickly limited by the available options at Bolarus IX. After working with his mentor, Monoc was able to arrange for a transfer to the Daystrom Institute annex on Galor IV to complete his studies.

Cadet, Daystrom Institute Annex, Galor IV
Successfully transferred to the Daystrom Institute Annex on Galor IV, Monoc Drurio continued his studies in cybernetics, showing an aptitude for understanding bio-neural network integration with robotics. This garnered the attention of Estella Mackenzie, who invited Monoc to assist with the development of the A500 worker drone. The only drawback of his transfer was that it led to an additional year of studies meaning that Monoc would not graduate with the Class of 2382 and would be held back to join the class of 2383. This was of little concern to Monoc, who relished the opportunity to work on additional projects at the Daystrom Institute Annex.

Midshipman Cruise, Utopia Planitia Ship Yards, Mars
Due to his experience with the A500 android, Monoc Drurio was assigned to Utopia Planitia Ship Yards, Mars for his Midshipman Cruise and was tasked with assisting the Operations crew with administration tasks. Excited to have the opportunity to continue his work with the A500, Monoc relished his assignment and spent much of his free time continuing to study the bio-neural connections. Despite excelling with his classwork, many of his professors noted that Monoc rarely interacted with those outside of his own team and was more comfortable with the A500s than people. After counseling it was discovered that this was not entirely Monoc's own fault as many tended to avoid him due to his Mizarian heritage. At the conclusion of his Midshipman Cruise, Monoc was approved to remain at Utopia Planitia Ship Yards to tend to the A500s.

Cybernetics Specialist, Utopia Planitia Ship Yards, Mars
Assigned to continue his role as Cybernetics Specialist at Utopia Planitia Ship Yards, Mars, Monoc Drurio eagerly worked with the A500s to ensure that they were operating at peak efficiency. This almost led to his death during the First Contact Day Massacre when Monoc was severely injured by a renegade A500. After three days trapped in the destroyed cybernetics lab, Monoc was rescued by a Starfleet Medical Team and taken to Spacedock for treatment. Monoc was devastated to learn that the death toll was 92,143 in total and that the A500s were responsible. Due to the order of the Federation Council all cybernetics research in the Federation was cancelled and, career less, Monoc was forced to choose a new path for himself after he healed from his injuries, which included the need for a replacement for his left leg.

Cadet, Starfleet Academy Annex, Bolarus IX
Returning to the Starfleet Academy Annex on Bolarus IX, Monoc Drurio found himself in need of a new career path due to cybernetics having been deemed illegal in the United Federation of Planets. Based on his experiences he had two potential options: he could switch to a general science track or he could focus on the operations field. Determined to find out what happened to the A500s under his charge, Monoc chose to complete advanced training in starship operations with the intent to become a Starfleet Operations Officer. After two years of advanced training, Monoc graduated tenth in his class.

Assistant Chief Operations Officer, USS Pequod
Having completed advanced training, Monoc Drurio was assigned to the Galaxy Class Starship USS Pequod as Assistant Chief Operations Officer. Assigned to catalog the Typhon Expanse, Monoc's time on the Pequod was eventful as the Typhon Sector was located along the former Romulan Neutral Zone and was able to explore regions previously unvisited. At the conclusion of this two year assignment, Monoc was assigned to the USS Odyssey.

Assistant Chief Operations Officer/Chief Operations Officer, USS Odyssey
Shortly after arriving aboard the USS Odyssey as Assistant Chief Operations Officer, Monoc Drurio was promoted to Chief Operations Officer with the retirement of his predecessor. The Odyssey was one of the few vessels still assigned to a long-range exploratory mission beyond the Federation's borders and Monoc was present for 5 first contacts with new species beyond Romulan territory. At the conclusion of the mission, Monoc transferred to the Starship Horizon.

Chief Operations Officer/Second Officer, USS Horizon
While smaller than the USS Odyssey, Monoc Drurio's assignment to the Starship Horizon found him promoted to Second Officer shortly after coming aboard when the existing Second Officer was promoted to Executive Officer. The Horizon was assigned to core sector patrols and was seen as an instrumental component of the defense of these sectors in an emergency, ensuring the need for readiness at all times. During the assignment, Monoc was instrumental in the Horizon overcoming a Romulan originating computer virus that had been transmitted to the Core Sectors by a Romulan Warlord intent on stealing supplies from Starbase 39-Sierra. For his successes, Monoc was awarded the Cochrane Medal of Excellence.

Executive Officer, USS Anubis
Following his assignment to the Horizon, Starfleet Command arranged for Monoc Drurio to be assigned to the USS Anubis as Executive Officer and Starfleet Liaison to the project on a six month tour. At the conclusion of the tour, Starfleet Command inquired for an official report on his views on the success of the Anubis Project to integrate Marines into Starfleet service. Rather than submit the report, Drurio accepted reassignment.

Executive Officer, USS Zheng He
With the completion of his tour aboard the Anubis, Monoc Drurio was assigned as Executive Officer of the recently launched USS Zheng He under the command of Captain Susan Vickers. The Zheng He was assigned to patrol the former Romulan Neutral Zone and Drurio was part of the delegation that made first contact with three former subject races of the Romulan Star Empire. During this tour, the Zheng He and its crew were afflicted with a new form of Pilian Lung Mold and Monoc was one of the few members of the crew not impacted. When the Zheng He was temporarily assigned to the command of Captain William Riker to respond to the Coppelius situation, Drurio continued as First Officer and was present at Deep Space 12. During this assignment, Drurio learned the truth of the Attack on Mars in 2385 that left many dead. Suffering from survivor’s guilt and PTSD, Monoc caused an interstellar incident when he attempted to open fire on the Romulan Flagship. He was court-martialed and sentenced to five years at the Jaros II Stockade

Prisoner, Jaros II Stockade
Due to his actions at Coppelius, Monoc Drurio was expelled from Starfleet and incarcerated at the Jaros II Stockade on Jaros II for five years. His sentence would be commuted following the Frontier Day Massacre in which the Borg Collective launched an effort to assimilate countless worlds through genetic modification via transporter due to the loss of experienced Starfleet personnel.

Chief Operations Officer, USS Sigma
His commission reactivated, Monoc Drurio was assigned to the USS Sigma as Chief Operations Officer.
